Our Team

Melvine Otieno

Melvine is an environmental health scientist and early career researcher from Kenya. She is the founder of Planetary Health Eastern Africa Hub. She is also the Planetary Health Alliance Next Generation Fellow and an associate team member of Women Leaders for Planetary Health. She aspires to continue her participation with the global community in building planetary health and One Health concepts to find solutions to environmental health challenges and imbalances.

Leonard Agan

Leonard is an environmental scientist and environmental health student at the university of Eldoret. He coordinates public communication and community outreach for the Planetary Health Eastern Africa Hub. 

Joseph Maira

Joseph is an Environmental and Occupational health scientist from Kenya. He is supporting the PHEAH activities in Kenya at Egerton University.

Given Moonga

Given is an Epidemiologist and PhD research fellow at the Centre for International Health, Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München CIH LMU.

Nyambura Muroki

Nyambura is a Student Doctor at the University of Nairobi, Kenya. She supports the hub to engage meaningfully with healthcare professionals in the region. 

Twambo Simanga

Twambo is an Environmental Health scientist and a researcher from Zambia. He is supporting the coordination of PHEAH in Zambia (University of Zambia).

Laura Jung

Laura is a Medical Doctor with a background in Public Health from Germany, and serves as a board member of the German Climate Change and Health Alliance. She is providing administrative support to the PHEAH.

Leonie Mac Fehr

Leonie is a medical student and MSc Global Health graduate from Germany. She is supporting the PHEAH team as an administrative assistant. 

Nathalie Nidens

Nathalie is a Medical Doctor and MSc Public Health graduate from Germany. She is supporting the PHEAH mainly as a research assistant.
